What are the different types of wig caps available?

Mallia  offers both T-Part Wigs and Lace-Frontal Wigs. Our T-Part wigs have a defined middle parting with less lace used in the  frontal than that of other wigs. It is made with a finer lace that makes the middle parting look impeccable. Our 13 x 4 Lace Frontrals have no defined parting, meaning you can create your own (side, middle, swept back, etc). Lace front wigs are one of the most natural-looking wig cap and are great if you wish to keep hair away from your face. Both Wig Cap types are available in a variety of styles and lengths.

What Are Mallia Hair Wigs Made Out Of?

Our wig hair is made from 100% Ethically-Sourced Brazilian Human Hair.

Our Wig Caps are made from a delicate looking Swiss Lace That is undetectable. Our wig caps come in a cool-tone medium brown color to create the illusion that hair comes from scalp.

Are Mallia Wig Cap Sizes Adjustable?

Yes! Our wigs are easily adjustable from inside the cap. Each wig has adjustable straps on both sides to ensure the wig is secure and comfortable on your head according to your head size.

Are Mallia Wigs Comfortable To Wear?

Yes! Our wigs have been tried and tested and passed with flying colours. Our Mallia models confirmed that the wigs sat comfortably on their heads with no tightness or irritation as well as no feelings of itchiness.

How long do Mallia Wigs last?

Our wigs can last anywhere from 3 months to over a year depending on the right care and use. We provide full hair care instructions as well as safety precautions with all hair products to ensure longevity. Just like human hair on your head, your wigs need constant protection, care and cleaning to keep it looking healthy. The improper or overuse of heated styling tools, products that cause build-up and frequent washing and combing all contribute to the wear and tear of your wigs.

For prolonged use of your wig, we advise that good care is taken when handling them by using a detangling brush or comb, heat protectant is used when using heated styling tools and that only sulphate-free shampoo is used to wash and clean your wig (we recommend that your wig is washed every 7-10 wears).

We have customers who have made their wigs last over 2 years with the right care.

Can I Curl Or Straighten Mallia Wigs?

Our wigs are made from 100% Brazilian Human Hair that can be styled using heated hair tools. However, for the protection and longevity of your hair we advise that heat-protectant is used and that you use a lower heat on your hair tools to avoid hair damage or burning.

We also advise that our deep-wave or tight curled wigs are not straightened, as they have been specifically treated for long-lasting tight curls.

Mallia Hair cannot be held liable for hair that is burnt during styling.

Can I Colour Mallia Wigs?

It’s preferable you do not dye or bleach your wigs as the end colour result cannot be promised. Please be advised that colouring your wigs will shorten their lifespan considerably. They will become dry and brittle very quickly and might break off.

Mallia Hair cannot take responsibility for your wigs’ damage or discolouration due to colouring the wigs, as we don't have control over the process, exposure length and products used.

If you do opt to dye your wigs, we recommend getting them coloured at a professional who has had previous experience working with wigs.

How often Should You Wash A Mallia Wig?

Your wig should ONLY be washed every 7-10 wears, or when you notice a  build up of products on the hair and the wig has become unmanageable to style. Only wash with sulphate free products.

We find that Airing out your wig with a light combing-through is often all you need to keep them clean. You can use a little Argan hair oil or leave-in-conditioner to keep them smelling fresh and feeling soft.

Can I Swim Or Shower Wearing A Mallia Wig?

We do not recommend showering or swimming with your wig on as it can cause unmanageable tangles as well as damage from pool chemicals and salt.

What is the best way to store Mallia Wigs?

A wig stand or mannequin head is ideal. It will help keep the hair from becoming tangled and will help to maintain the wigs shape and style. It is recommended to keep your wig in a cool dry place, rather than in or near a bathroom or area with high-humidity.

How do I put on a wig?

After removing your wig from the box, take off the protective hairnet and give it a good shake. If it is a ready-to-wear synthetic hair wig, you are ready to go! If it requires customisation (such as trimming a lace front), we recommend you consult a wig specialist or visit our salon.

If you have a lot of your own hair, the first step is to gather it back and up. One great trick is to separate the hair into two sections on each side of your head. Twist the hair as you pull it back and around the head so that it will eventually lay flat. This tactic can help avoid a pony tail bulge. You may choose to use pins, braids, wig caps (recommended) or a great product called Sure Grip to secure your hair. A wig cap can be helpful even without hair to keep wigs secure and in place.

Hold your wig at the sides (ear tabs) and starting at the front, place it at your natural hairline. Slide it on toward the nape of your neck and shift as needed using the ear tabs to help center your wig. Adjustable straps at the nape may help to achieve a more secure fit. If handling a lace front wig, take care not to tug on the lace as it can be a bit delicate.

Don't worry if it doesn't look perfect right away, start styling!
