What are the different types of Mallia Extensions available?

Mallia Hair offers both Clip-In and Tape-In Hair Extensions

Clip-in hair extensions are better for you if you want more freedom with how and when you wear hair extensions, offering a more temporary method. Whilst Tape-In hair extensions are better if you want a semi-permanent alternative (tape in can last 6-12 weeks, or even longer if well maintained).

What Are Mallia Hair Extensions Made Out Of?

Our Hair Extensions are made From 100% ethically-sourced Brazilian Hair.

How do I choose the right shade?

When selecting a hair colour, it is best to match your extensions to the majority of your hair colour, especially when you have ombre or highlighted hair.

If you are unsure, you are welcome to send us some pictures or your hair to _____________ from the back, front and side, including the ends, preferably outside in natural light. We will then make a recommendation, based on what your colour looks like.

If you do purchase the wrong colour you may return the hair extensions, with the quality seal (the gold ties) unbroken, and we will send you another shade, at your expense.

Are Mallia Hair Extensions Comfortable To Wear?

Our Extensions have been designed for ultimate comfort and to be totally non-intrusive. The small clips have a sturdy and firm grip without pulling on your hair or causing irritation to your scalp. Your extensions should be taken out before you go to bed, to ensure that they don’t get tangled. No damage is caused to your own hair when wearing Extensions.

 How long do they last?

With the right care, our hair extensions can last anywhere from 3 months to over a year. Just like human hair on your head, your wigs need constant protection, care and cleaning to keep it looking healthy. The improper or overuse of heated styling tools, products that cause build-up and frequent washing and combing all contribute to the wear and tear of your wigs.

For prolonged use of your hair extensions, we advise that good care is taken when handling them by using a detangling brush or comb, heat protectant is used when using heated styling tools and that only sulphate-free shampoo is used to wash and clean your extensions (we recommend that your extensions are is washed every 10-15 wears).

We have customers who have made their extensions last over 2 years with the right care.

Can I Curl Or Straighten Mallia Wigs?

Yes! Our Hair Extensions are made from 100% Brazilian Human Hair that can be styled using heated hair tools. However, for the protection and longevity of your Hair Extensions we advise that heat-protectant is used and that you use a lower heat on your hair tools to avoid hair damage or burning.

Mallia Hair cannot be held responsible for hair that is burnt during styling.

Can I colour Mallia Hair Extensions?

We do not recommend colouring or bleaching your hair extensions. It is preferable that you choose the correct colour extensions from the beginning, as they have already undergone a chemical process to get them to that specific colour.

Please note that colouring your extensions will shorten their lifespan considerably as they could become dry and brittle very quickly and might break off.

Mallia Hair cannot take responsibility for colouring the extensions, as we don't have control over the process, exposure length and products used to dye. We therefor don't, under any circumstances offer exchanges / refunds if extensions have been dyed.

How often Should You Wash Mallia Hair Extensions?

We recommend that your extensions are washed every 10-15 wears or when there is noticeable build-up of products and have the hair extensions have become unmanageable to style. Only wash with sulphate free products.

We find that Airing out your hair extensions with a light combing-through is often all you need to keep them clean. You can use a little Argan hair oil or leave-in-conditioner to keep them smelling fresh and feeling soft.

What is the best way to store Mallia Hair Extensions?

Hang your hair extensions up using a hair extensions hanger or place flat inside of your hair extension box when not in use. It is recommended to keep your hair extensions in a cool dry place, rather than in or near a bathroom or area with high-humidity.

Can I swim or shower with Mallia Hair Extensions?

We do not recommend this. It can put too much stress on the hair and create unmanageable tangles. Also, pool chemicals and salt can damage and dry out the hair as well as affecting the colour.

How to attach Mallia Clip-In Extensions:

Start by parting the section of your hair in line with your earlobes, divide downwards to create a half moon shape.

Open the clips and attach them as close to the roots as possible; starting with your 4 weft (widest piece with 4 clips). Clip the the two clips in the middle and then clip the other two higher up, near to your ear. Clip at an angle and not just straight / vertically across.

Divide your hair starting from your temples, run your fingers downwards to create a 'V', triangle shape. Clip your 3 wefts (piece with 3 clips) along the divided angle on either side.

Divide your hair just above your temples around the crown of your hair. Clip your two wefts (piece with 2 clips) on either side and one at the back.
Part your hair just above your 2 wefts, close to your face and clip your one weft on either side.

Always start at the lower half of your head and work your way up. Start with the widest weft, 4, 3, 2, 1. Follow your hairline and be sure to balance them out evenly. You may need one or two practice rounds, but once you get it, it should only take a few minutes.

Your extensions should feel secure and will not come out until you unclip them.
NEVER try to slide the extensions off without first opening the clip.
