Hair Aftercare

Gently brush your Mallia Hair Pieces with a detangling or boar bristle brush.

Brush your Mallia Hair Pieces from the root, right down to tip before wearing them and again after you have taken them off, before putting them away.

If you brush your Mallia Hair Pieces while wearing them, be sure to hold them down at their clip/attachment base to avoid displacing them or pulling them out.

It is preferred that you brush your Mallia Hair Pieces when they are dry or mostly dry to avoid breakage or hair strands stretching, as hair is more vulnerable and elasticated when wet.

If your Mallia Hair Pieces are particularly tangled or knotted, use a detangling spray or leave-in-conditioner to help ease and loosen the tangles and knots.

We advise that you wash your Hair Extensions or Ponytail Extensions every 10-20 wears, or whenever you notice product buildup on the extensions or that the extensions have gone dry and unmanageable.

We advise the use of shampoo and conditioners that hydrate and add moisture to your Mallia Hair Pieces. Only use hair products that are mentioned in our recommendation list.

Never use products containing protein/ keratin. Even though protein is good for your natural hair, it will make your extensions feel hard and dry and
can cause premature breakage and damage.

When you wash and condition your Mallia Hair Pieces, you must do so in one direction, from top to bottom. Avoid scrunching your Mallia Hair Pieces as this will cause tangles and knots.

Do keep in mind that your hair will need more moisture in winter or in dry seasons. Make use of hair oils and treatments mentioned in our recommendation list.

Blonde and colour treated Mallia Hair Pieces hair will also need extra moisture and care as hair is chemically lightened and more fragile.

It is preferable that you let your Mallia Hair Pieces air-dry partially or fully to minimise heat damage. However, if you need to blow dry your Mallia Hair Pieces, do so on low heat or by using the cooling function on your hair dryer.

When towel-drying your Mallia Hair pieces after washing them, avoid rubbing and scrunching the hair between the towel and your hands to minimise breakage and tangling.

Avoid harsh brushing while your Mallia Hair pieces are still wet. Use a leave in-conditioner or tangling spay to avoid tearing and breakage.

Treat your Mallia Hair Pieces with the same care you would your own natural hair.

You can curl, straighten and heat style your hair for style versatility, however, please be careful not to use high heat on your Mallia Hair Pieces. This can cause your ends to burn and you will experience hard, frizzy and/or split ends.

Use a heat protection product before using any heat on your hair.

Do not use heat on wet hair as your extensions can get blisters from the water boiling in the cuticle. Rather use heat on dry hair.

Never style hair with the temperature higher than 160 degrees.

Always style your extensions with low heat to make sure your extensions look sleek and healthy.Heat styling will seal your hair extension cuticle to create a sleek look.

Add a good quality hair oil afterward to add shine to your hair.Hair oils are a great aftercare product to keep your hair from feeling dry or tangling.

It is recommended that you seek professional help to trim your Mallia Hair pieces.

If your Mallia Hair pieces are too long and require trimming or cutting after prolonged use, it is advised to cut them when they are dry and not when they are wet.

After prolonged use of your Mallia Hair pieces it is normal to experience some wear and tear in the form of your ends thinning or breaking - it is recommended to give them a slight trim to keep them looking neat.

When trimming and cutting your Mallia Hair Pieces we recommend using professional hair scissors over razors, standard scissors or thinning scissors.

Always remember that you can always trim off more if you trim them too short, however you cannot grow it back if you cut off too much, ideally trim your Mallia Hair pieces in small increments.

Selected Mallia Hair Pieces have already been processed with colour, therefore we do not advise applying any additional chemical and colouring products to them.

If you are still wanting to colour your Mallia Hair pieces we advise that the colour must be tested first on a single strand before colouring the rest of the hair
pieces. Colour on hair pieces will almost always come out different than on our own natural hair as hair pieces have gone through a curing and treatment process that your own natural hair would not have received.

We never recommend lightening or bleaching Mallia Hair pieces as it will most likely result in damaging, breaking and ruining the hair. Mallia Hair pieces have gone through a controlled and professional colouring process that is applied using professional colouring and curing processes.

*Should you choose to colour your hair extensions, we cannot be held liable for any changes to the hair quality or take any responsibility for the colour results of the hair. We recommend seeking professional assistance for colouring and bleaching your Mallia Hair pieces.

As much as your natural hair needs moisture and nourishment, so does your Mallia Hair pieces.

In between washes, keep hair looking and smelling fresh with leave in conditioner which can be applied to the middle of the hair, down to the ends.

If your Mallia Hair pieces are looking dry or dull, apply a small amount of hair oil to hydrate and brighten the hair.

Make sure you are conditioning your Mallia Hair Pieces every time you wash them to keep them hydrated and treated.

Make sure that your Mallia Hair Pieces are well rinsed after every wash and are brushed between uses to avoid product build-up and dirt and oils being trapped.
